Experience
Tamar Morag-Sela is the Head of the Life Science & Chemistry Practice at Reinhold Cohn Group, leading the firm’s work across a broad range of scientific and technological fields. With nearly three decades of experience in intellectual property, she advises Israeli and international clients—including startups, multinational corporations, and private entrepreneurs—on building and managing comprehensive patent portfolios.
She provides strategic guidance on patent protection, screening processes, global patent drafting and prosecution, and due diligence opinions, including patentability, Freedom-to-Operate (FTO), validity, infringement, and IP-related risk assessments.
Tamar works closely with early-stage companies, not only drafting and prosecuting their patent applications but also advising on structuring research and development to align with business objectives. By integrating IP considerations into innovation processes, she helps build strong, defensible patent portfolios that enhance long-term value and competitive positioning.
She specializes in sustainability-driven technologies, including FoodTech, AgriTech, waste management, microbiome research, renewable energy (including bioelectrochemical and fuel cells), green chemistry, drug delivery, nanomedicine, and advanced materials science.
Her experience also includes conducting in-depth industry and competitive analyses, advising clients on market positioning, risk assessment, and strategic IP investments. By integrating business intelligence into her IP strategy work, she helps companies align innovation pipelines with market opportunities and long-term growth objectives.
In addition to patent protection, Tamar heads the firm’s Plant Breeders’ Rights (PBR) practice, leveraging her expertise in protecting new plant varieties and agricultural innovations.
