Experience
Rakefet specializes in commercial litigation, particularly in the intellectual property, privacy and libel fields.
She has extensive professional experience in various areas of intellectual property, including copyrights, open source, AI, trademarks, designs, passing off, breeders rights, unfair competition, and competition law. Rakefet has represented clients in proceedings at all levels of Israeli courts and has appeared before the Israel Patent Office.
She also serves as a mediator in matters of intellectual property rights, libel suits, and privacy protection. and lectures on mediation practice.
Over the years, Rakefet played an active role in creating numerous precedents in the intellectual property field, such as the Forum case against Ashir, in which the Supreme Court established the principles of the cause of unlawful enrichment, and also conducted the Maariv lawsuit against the Marker, which dealt with copyright infringement in the field of journalism and established principled and innovative legal precedent on the subject, she represented also “Habitat International” company in a lawsuit in which it was ruled that an Israeli company registered its name as a trademark in bad faith, and represented “Nestle” in a dispute over the copying of an advertisement in which legal precedents were established regarding the doctrine of “fair use” of copyright.
Rakefet’s clients include media companies, advertising agencies, production companies, high-tech companies, government entities, and individuals in creative fields.
She is also a lecturer on civil proceedings and copyright at various academic and professional forums.
