Experience
Eran brings over three decades of experience in all facets of intellectual property law, focusing on the intersection between innovation, technology, and law.
He is actively engaged in litigation, transactional, licensing, and advisory work, frequently appearing before Israeli courts at all levels and the Israeli Patent Office. Additionally, Eran has participated in numerous multi-jurisdictional litigations.
Eran represents the firm’s clients across various legal fields, including patents, patent term extensions, trade secrets, plant breeders’ rights, copyrights, industrial designs, trademarks, and pharmaceutical and biotechnology regulatory law. He specializes in serving companies in the pharma, biotech, agtech, homeland security, ITC, big data, and digital health sectors.
He serves as a consultant on intellectual property matters to the Accountant General’s Division of the Ministry of Finance of the State of Israel. He represents the Israeli government bodies, by special appointment of the Attorney General, in civil enforcement of the State’s intellectual property rights.
Since the mid-1990s, Eran has been involved in the legislative process in the Israeli Parliament (Knesset) regarding areas of his expertise, such as the Patents Law and Regulations, Pharmacists Ordinance, and Copyright Law, acting on behalf of various entities.
Eran is a member of several intellectual property organizations, including AIPPI, INTA, LES, and ALAI. He actively participates in AIPPI’s biotech committee and Plant Breeders’ Right committee and has served as the secretary of the AIPPI national group in Israel. He has recently been appointed to AIPPI’s Standing Committee on Plant Varieties.
In addition to his professional affiliations, Eran has taught intellectual property at many of Israel’s leading academic institutions.
He is the author of several books and publications on the subject, including Intellectual Property Law in Israel (Kluwer), Global Patent Litigation: How and Where to Win (BNA), Patent Term Extensions (Nomos), and various chapters in leading guides, such Chamber, Legal 500, Mondaq, ICLG, on patents, patent litigation, digital health, etc.
