The Israeli Patent Authority is considering launching a new filing channel that will allow the filing of a priority patent application as a provisional application, similar to provisional applications filed in the United States. Such provisional applications allow receipt of a filing date, but do not undergo an examination process and do not mature into patents, unless the applicant files a standard application within one year from the date of filing.
